TerraSmart's SPI 2013 Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser

During Solar Power International 2013, TerraSmart held the very first fundraising event for Chicagoland Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, helping to raise over $1,000 in donations.

TerraSmart specializes in designing, engineering, manufacturing, and installing an industry leading, turnkey ground mount solution for commercial to utility-scale solar ground mount projects. Incorporating TerraSmart's trend setting ground screw foundation with its racking system, the company has paved the path for transforming the solar ground mount industry.

But that's not the only thing TerraSmart is transforming. During Solar Power International 2013, TerraSmart held the very first fundraising event for Chicagoland Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. Located in McCormick Center in Chicago, IL, CEO and employees wore golf themed outfits, including pink caddy hats, as they distributed awareness bracelets, pink coozies, and raffle tickets. For those that stopped by booth #1320, TerraSmart personally donated $1.00 for each awareness band given away. Even SGK Development Coordinator, Hilary Grunewald, was present to share information on the cause as well as collect donations.

Overall, Solar Power International 2013 may have been the most successful trade show yet. The fundraiser alone significantly increased booth traffic on October 23rd and by 5:30pm, there were over 250 individuals in booth #1320 showing support for the cure. By the day's end, CEO of TerraSmart, Ryan Reid, presented Chicagoland Susan G. Komen with a check in the amount of $3117. The company is looking forward to next year's SPI in Las Vegas, with intention to host the second annual breast cancer awareness fundraiser. TerraSmart is making history; more important, it is making change towards great causes that align with the company's ideals and values.

WS510 Secondary Standard

WS510 Secondary Standard

In the monitoring of large photovoltaic (Utility Scale), in assessing potential sites (Solar-assessment), or in up and coming electricity cost saving initiatives projects (Commercial & Industrial), the WS510 now provides the market a secondary standard pyranometer, ultrasonic wind speed, ultrasonic wind direction, temperature, pressure and humidity all in a single unit.. This sensor meets the high demands of the world meteorological organization (WMO) through the active valving at air temperature measurement and the inertia- and maintenance-free measurement of wind speed and wind direction on the ultrasonic principle. Equipped with a Kipp & Zonen pyranometer of the secondary standards, the WS510-UMB Compact weather sensor from Lufft unites the precision of a variety of meteorological individual sensors in a single all-in-one device, for the first time.
