New USB High Accuracy, Multi-Sensor Module from Data Translation

Breakthrough Design Measures any type of sensor at any of 8 inputs----- All Software Enabled…no hardware add-ons

Marlboro, MA ─ January 8, 2014 ─ Data Translation today announced a new data acquisition module that can measure any type of sensor. The DT9829 supports a broad array of sensor types including: thermocouples, RTDS, and thermistors for measuring temperature; bridge-based and strain gage sensors for measuring strain and load cell data, such as torque and pressure; and voltage, current, and resistance for measuring electrical parameters.

Any sensor merely has to be connected at an input and all selections, including any necessary for excitation, cold junction compensation or bridge completion, are included and supported by QuickDAQ. No other circuitry or external components are necessary.

According to Fred Molinari, President and CEO, "This very accurate module can measure up to 8 different sensors on any of the 8 channels with no interaction from one to another. The USB module is galvanically isolated from PC ground to preserve measurement integrity and runs off USB power for easy, portable use in the field."

The module samples at 960 Hz, utilizes 24-bit sigma-delta ADC to eliminate aliasing, and provides 4 isolated digital inputs and 4 open-collector digital outputs for notifications or control. Additional full software support includes comprehensive drivers, and interface tools for LabVIEW™ and MATLAB® programmers.

Pricing and Availability
The DT9829 is available with 2, 4, or 8 analog inputs with prices starting at $895 US List. OEM versions also available.

All models ship in 5 business days.

WS510 Secondary Standard

WS510 Secondary Standard

In the monitoring of large photovoltaic (Utility Scale), in assessing potential sites (Solar-assessment), or in up and coming electricity cost saving initiatives projects (Commercial & Industrial), the WS510 now provides the market a secondary standard pyranometer, ultrasonic wind speed, ultrasonic wind direction, temperature, pressure and humidity all in a single unit.. This sensor meets the high demands of the world meteorological organization (WMO) through the active valving at air temperature measurement and the inertia- and maintenance-free measurement of wind speed and wind direction on the ultrasonic principle. Equipped with a Kipp & Zonen pyranometer of the secondary standards, the WS510-UMB Compact weather sensor from Lufft unites the precision of a variety of meteorological individual sensors in a single all-in-one device, for the first time.
