Baker Electric Solar Announces New Controller and New Director of Residential Sales

Baker Electric Solar is pleased to announce the appointment of two new team members to its Southern California solar energy team. Cherri Ewing was named controller and Ian Lochore director of residential sales.

Baker Electric Solar, an Escondido-based solar company that designs, builds and installs photovoltaic solar power systems across Southern California, today announced the appointment of Cherri Ewing, CPA as controller and Ian Lochore as director of residential sales.

In her role as controller, Cherri Ewing manages all financial affairs of Baker Electric Solar including monthly and annual financial statements, reporting on cash flow analysis, and overall risk management.

Ewing previously served as Baker Electric Inc.'s controller from 1999 to 2005 and rejoined the Baker family of companies in 2009 as Baker Electric Inc.'s controller. In the interim from 2006 through 2008, Ewing continued gaining construction experience at California Comfort Systems USA (CCS), a San Diego mechanical and plumbing contractor. Ewing is a certified public accountant and received her B.A. in Business Administration and Accounting from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington.

"We're extremely pleased to have Cherri transition from her Baker Electric Inc. and Baker Electric Solar shared controller position to serving as Baker Electric Solar's full-time dedicated controller," said Baker Electric Solar CEO Ted Baker. "She brings more than 25 years' experience in accounting and construction to her role. As a noteworthy sidebar, she was our very first Baker employee to install a solar system for her home in North County San Diego."

Ian Lochore brings a wealth of experience to his position as the new director of residential sales. His primary objectives are to motivate and direct the team of solar energy consultants to achieve Baker Electric Solar's revenue goals and growth while enhancing the overall solar experience for all of Baker's customers.

Lochore was born and raised in Perth, Australia. He began his career in sales and marketing in the late 90s. He held the following positions at Black and Decker Australia -- territory sales representative, trade development specialist, sales and marketing manager, as well as overall brand manager for DeWalt. With the emergence of the solar energy industry in 2007, Lochore transitioned easily into sales and marketing manager positions with SunPower Corporation, Natural Energy Company (SolarGain Southwest) and most recently as regional sales manager for SolarCity Corporation.

Lochore received a B.A. in Commerce with a major in Marketing from Curtin University in Perth, Australia and went on to obtain a Graduate Diploma of Education from Edith Cowan University in Perth.

"We're looking forward to Ian's coaching and performance development of our solar energy consultants," said Baker Electric Solar President Mike Teresso. "His leadership will help us build a scalable, ‘best of class' sales organization. It was important for us to bring on an individual of Ian's caliber to create and implement the strategic sales plans for Baker Electric Solar's geographic expansion."
