Bioenergy Experts to Assemble in Portland, ME on Renewable Heating Market Challenges, Opportunities

Featured speakers for the April 16-18 Northeast Biomass Heating Expo to include government, finance, business, and forestry leaders.

Portland, ME, – The Biomass Thermal Energy Council (BTEC), the leading voice for North American biomass and heating fuels technologies, today announced its conference program for the 7th annual Northeast Biomass Heating Expo 2015 (NEBHx). The region's largest biomass heating conference will assess the challenges of biomass project financing, integrating heating systems into homes and businesses, continuing the sustainability of wood fuels, and much more. Influential speakers include Virginia Manuel, State Director of USDA Rural Development, Tim Hoffman, Chairman of Watts Capital, and Jeff Marks, Executive Director of E2Tech. The NEBHx 2015 program will aid bioenergy industry stakeholders in distinguishing and analyzing technical and economic solutions to reduce the Northeastern U.S.'s high reliance on fossil heating fuels. The global event for biomass thermal systems will take place on April 16-18, 2015 at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine.

"The 7th annual conference program demonstrates how biomass heating technology is working in real-world homes, buildings, and cities," said Joseph Seymour, Conference Chair and Executive Director of the Biomass Thermal Energy Council (BTEC). "Attending the conference and exposition is the easiest way for those interested in renewable energy and energy efficiency to witness how biomass can meet their business or customers' heating needs affordably, efficiently, and cleanly."

The conference will mark five versatile tracks – finance, design and engineering, fuel supply technology, sustainability and policy – of the biomass market, preceded by a networking reception.

The NEBHx 2015 program offers a day-long workshop on heating systems design on April 16, "Hydronics for High Efficiency Wood-fired and Pellet-fired Boilers," led by industry expert John Siegenthaler of Appropriate Designs. The technical workshop details the fundamentals and design principles of modern biomass heating systems, and includes continued education credits for architecture and engineers. The Green Heating Fair at NEBHx 2015 will be an exclusive opportunity for the general public to learn from energy professionals on how to heat locally with homegrown renewable fuels, which are affordable and have significant environmental benefits compared to fossil fuels. Fair attendees will be eligible for exclusive giveaways and free raffles with prizes including green heating starter kits, a $2,500 voucher for a Windhager pellet boiler, and more. The Green Heating Fair takes place during select hours on all three conference days following formal conference sessions. The Fair is free to attend. Pre-registration is recommended, though not required. More information on this public event is available at www.GreenHeatingFair.com.

NEBHx 2015 connects professionals from all sectors of the world's interrelated biomass thermal utilization industries. For the 7th year, the biomass heating conference and expo will unite a diverse audience from the biomass fuel, supply chain, developer, manufacturer, and government sectors to develop market solutions to meet the growing biomass thermal and combined heat and power (CHP) markets. The three day NEBHx 2015 conference will begin on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 8 A.M. at the Cross Insurance Arena, 1 Civic Center Square, Portland, ME 04101.
