Sequoya started her solar career as Vice President of Operations for AEE Solar, one of the country's foremost solar distributors. She quickly established her enthusiasm for the field and worked at growing the company by adding a larger distribution facility in Sacramento, CA. Along, with that growth she helped establish a Canadian branch that worked in industrial off-grid applications.

She now co-owns and is the Chief Executive Officer for Backwoods Solar, one of the oldest and most respected off-grid solar, wind, and micro-hydro suppliers in the country. She and her company specialize in customized solutions for remote areas all over the world; working with installers, NGOs, and end users designing and supplying the best materials for each project. Her passion is extending the reach of energy accessibility through her work with multiple organizations and as an Energy Access Practitioner Network Member for the UN Sustainable Energy For All Initiative.
