Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) will revolutionize the word economy because by photo-synthesis water can be used as the fuel of the future. Photo-catalytic splitting of water to Hydrogen (no CO is produced) and pure oxygen (not air) can be used to power PEMFCs. PEMFCs can power auto mobiles as well as stationary applications because of their high power density, moderate operating temperature, zero pollution production and compact design.

VANCOUVER, CANADA - Ballard has received a follow-on order from Solaris Bus & Coach (Solaris) for a fuel cell power module to be used in a zero-emission bus planned for deployment in Europe. The next-generation FCvelocity®-HD7 power module will be incorporated into a new 24 meter (80 foot) fuel cell bus design. Delivery of the power module to Solaris is planned for later this year.

The cooled gas can then be reheated to reduce the relative humidity and thus meet the technical demands of gas engines, turbines and other downstream equipment.
