Landsvirkjun is a leader in the production of renewable energy in Iceland. Landsvirkjun's power generation is based on production from hydropower and geothermal energy. Landsvirkjun processes 75% of all electricity in Iceland and is the country's biggest electric generator. The company, owned by the Icelandic State, is also a leader in sustainable energy exploitation and promotes awareness, innovation and technological development.
