ACORE TO PUBLISH NORTH AMERICAN RENEWABLE ENERGY FINANCE DIRECTORY

The directory is designed to assist project developers and entrepreneurs seeking capital as well as investors looking for financing vehicles, and will contain information on sources of finance for renewable energy and energy efficiency in the United States.

Washington, DC (May 26, 2004) -- The American Council On Renewable Energy ACORE) announced that it will publish a North American Renewable Energy Finance Directory, with a draft to be released at its finance conference in New York on June 23-24, 2004. The directory is designed to assist project developers and entrepreneurs seeking capital as well as investors looking for financing vehicles, and will contain information on sources of finance for renewable energy and energy efficiency in the United States.

Michael Eckhart, President of ACORE, stated, "there is a real need in the renewable energy sector for a comprehensive listing of financing sources. With over $ 15 billion dollars of new projects in 2003 and a growth rate over 25 percent per year for the last 5 years, renewable energy is one of the fastest growing sectors."

Ken Locklin of EIF Group believes "financing is the key to implementing renewable energy projects, and this directory will be an invaluable tool." The list of new projects is rapidly expanding, and Locklin added "the directory will help facilitate additional new project development."

ACORE is accepting additions to the directory that already includes over 100 firms such as Allied Capital, Energy Investors Funds, Fortis Capital, Global Environmental Fund, Marathon Capital, New Energy Capital, Nth Power, Perseus, Shore Bank, Black Emerald Group, Travelers Financial, and others.
