Unleash the Power of Thorium

The thorium fuel cycle offers energy security advantages in the long-term because of its ability as a self-sustaining fuel that does not need fast neutron reactors. It is consequently a significant and potentially practicable technology that is able to provide long-term nuclear energy solutions.

Saft Li-ion energy storage will maintain the balance of power for Finland's transition to a solar economy

The Saft Intensium® Max containerized energy storage system, with a nominal output of 2 MW and 1 MWh of capacity, has been installed at Fortum's Järvenpää biomass fired CHP (combined heat andpower) plant.

How Rural Areas Can Benefit From Renewable Energy

Renewable energy and rural areas are mutually beneficial. As the green energy industry continues to grow, you need to know where to expand next. And rural areas are the place to go for success.

AltEnergyMag.com Talks Intersolar with Enphase Energy

Enphase will be showcasing its Home Energy System including its M-Series Micro inverters, the Envoy S metered gateway and its modular designed AC Battery storage system, complete with a demonstration of the Enlighten monitoring software.

Why Quality, Safety & Testing Matter in Your PV Inverters

The long-term success of a PV system ultimately relies heavily on the quality of the components within it - and too often many inverter manufacturers cut corners to achieve less expensive products that will sell quickly.

5 Common Solar Sales Mistakes Dealers Should Avoid

Developing an effective solar sales strategy can be challenging: when you're facing tough competitors in a crowded market, dealing with varying customer needs and values, and finding creative ways to offer value, it's easy to overlook the basics.

Ice Energy Storage Explained

New storage technologies are broadening the appetite for storage beyond lithium ion. I think we've hit the tipping point where the awareness and value of energy storage has gone mainstream.

Renewables Continue to Break Records, but Room for Improvement Remains

Renewables are expected to cover more than 60 percent of the increase in world electricity generation over the medium term, rapidly closing the gap with coal.

How Storage & Solar will Create Smart Homes of the Future

As more smart home and storage products become available, it is easy to imagine a world where consumers have much more control over how they use their energy.

Case Study: Utility Scale Project Using DCE Solar's Contour System

A COMPLETELY FLAT SITE with no changes in slope or terrain is rare to find even at only 10 or 20 acres, however grading an entire 150-acre site would quickly raise costs on the project beyond the point of feasibility.

Integrating Energy Storage Systems

According to SNL Energy, the economic value of energy storage at maximum market potential in the U.S. is $228.4 billion over a 10-year period.

Easy monitoring with weather sensors from Lufft

Easy monitoring with weather sensors from Lufft

Professional weather sensors form the heart of large solar plants supporting their operation and performance. Lufft was the first manufacturer to combine several sensors in one housing, bringing the largest multiparameter weather sensor family with 19 members into being. Many of them are well-suited for solar site assessment and continuous monitoring. The most commonly used one is the WS600 delivering data on temperature, air pressure, wind, relative humidity and precipitation. Through its open protocol, it can easily be attached to radiation sensors e.g. from Kipp&Zonen. Other models have an integrated Silicon, Second Class or Secondary Standard radiation sensor.
