Illinois distributor of street legal electric scooters and ETS receive clearance from NYSDMV to register and license in New York
MT. VERNON, New York, June 21, 2005 On June 21, 2005 Electric Transportation Solutions (ETS) of Mt. Vernon, N.Y., and Electric Vehicle Technologies of Skokie, Illinois received official approval from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (NYSDMV) that the EVT 168 and 4000E have been certified to be registered and obtain license plates in the State of New York. ETS and EVT were working for the past several months with NYSDMV to receive the necessary approvals to enable the electric scooters to become registered in the State.
ETS launched a virtual department store of electric vehicles in mid-October, 2004. In addition to its website, www.electrictransport.net, ETS offers consulting services aimed at ultimately supplying electric vehicles with power from the wind and sun.
Electric Vehicle Technologies Inc., www.evtworld.com is a multinational manufacturer, designer, and seller of electric vehicles and is dedicated to the proliferation of electric drive technologies. Electric Vehicle Technologies also markets and distributes products manufactured by EVT Technologies Co., LTD.
"ETS is very excited to have worked with EVT World and the NYSDMV. We have successfully enabled the 168 and 4000E electric scooters to receive registration and license plates in the State. This will allow millions of potential consumers to use clean, efficient and cost-effective forms of transportation. With gas prices at the levels that they are today, this official approval makes it easier for consumers to make real energy choices. To also be recognized by EVT World and the State as the official representative of EVT products in New York, helps a New York company move forward in the electric transportation marketplace" said ETS President Seth Leitman.
"The completion of this certification process is something to celebrate," said Dave Haskell, Vice President of Electric Vehicle Technologies. "These products are perfect for New York. From Montauk to New York City, from Albany to Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo, EVT products can be driven. This will allow New York State residents the opportunity to make transportation choices for energy efficient products. We are grateful to ETS and their efforts with NY State to certify our electric scooters. The ETS commitment to certification throughout the past several months shows their commitment to the environment, transportation and energy issues that we all face."
