Luvata wins Solar Industry Award for PV Process Excellence

The award will be presented during the 31st European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (EU PVSEC) taking place in Hamburg, Germany September 14-18, 2015.

(10 September 2015) Industry professionals selected Luvata as the winner of the PV Process Award which recognizes excellence in a process that improves yield management in PV manufacturing. The award will be presented during the 31st European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (EU PVSEC) taking place in Hamburg, Germany September 14-18, 2015.


The Solar Industry Awards, presented by Solar PV Management Magazine, have been created to recognise the whole value chain and those people, products and services that will develop innovative manufacturing and product approaches that have the potential to change the way we live.

Understanding solar ribbon is critically important to solar module efficiency and life cycle. Solar ribbon width, thickness and straightness have to be carefully adapted to accommodate the limitations of module materials. In addition, the low yield strength with high elongation, thickness and width of solar ribbon can directly influence production yields and decrease cell to module (CTM) losses by 20-30%.
