SEIA Urges Energy Task Force to Build on Solar Innovation in Nevada
Following is a statement from Tom Kimbis, interim president of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA):
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following is a statement from Tom Kimbis, interim president of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA):
The task force has a second chance to improve upon last years decisions on solar by the PUCN while recharging the states commitment to technology, jobs and economic growth.
Nevada has a strong track record of supporting next generation technologies, from solar to storage to electric vehicles. It can continue on this path of smart policy Tuesday by approving proposals from the Distributed Generation and Storage Technical Advisory Committee. And it can take another step forward by making solar a part of the states building code, ushering in more jobs and best-in-class buildings. If approved, Nevada could rightfully claim its role as the solar state and not just the Silver State.
Nevadas opportunity for a bright, rich future is here. Companies are lining up at the state border to get back to work in Nevada. Its our sincere hope that the task force makes the right choice on Tuesday by approving recommendations to bring tens of thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in investment to Nevada.
