MAXWELL TECHNOLOGIES TO PRESENT SESSION ON HIGH RELIABILITY BACK-UP FOR TELECOM INDUSTRY AT INTELEC 2004

INTELEC 2004 is an annual event where network operators, engineers and designers interact with the manufacturers, distributors and designers of power equipment.

What?

Eric Bersano, Strategic Account Manager at Maxwell Technologies, is presenting a session, entitled "High Reliability Back-Up for Telecom Using Ultracapacitors," at INTELEC 2004 in Chicago, IL next week. INTELEC 2004 is an annual event where network operators, engineers and designers interact with the manufacturers, distributors and designers of power equipment. Attendees will learn the benefits that ultracapacitor-based backup power modules provide over battery-based systems for "bridge" power in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. Maxwell will also detail its new plug-and-play battery replacement module for the telecom market.

WHY

Local and national threats to the U.S. power system have elevated the business necessity of highly-reliable and available backup power systems in the telecommunications industry. UPS systems all require a complementary short-term bridge power source that is instantly available should an outage occur. Ultracapacitors provide a cost-effective and highly-reliable alternative to batteries that ensures uptime of systems and a low total cost of ownership with reductions in maintenance requirements, environmental precautions and the space and weight of systems. This session will help attendees effectively design these new components into high reliability applications.

HPS EnduraCoilTM Cast Resin Medium Voltage Transformer

HPS EnduraCoilTM Cast Resin Medium Voltage Transformer

HPS EnduraCoil is a high-performance cast resin transformer designed for many demanding and diverse applications while minimizing both installation and maintenance costs. Coils are formed with mineral-filled epoxy, reinforced with fiberglass and cast to provide complete void-free resin impregnation throughout the entire insulation system. HPS EnduraCoil complies with the new NRCan 2019 and DOE 2016 efficiency regulations and is approved by both UL and CSA standards. It is also seismic qualified per IBC 2012/ASCE 7-10/CBC 2013. Cast resin transformers are self-extinguishing in the unlikely event of fire, environmentally friendly and offer greater resistance to short circuits. HPS also offers wide range of accessories for transformer protection and monitoring requirements.
