SPS Energy Solutions, a North American solar energy leader in system design and integration, worked with Solar Energy International and The Green Building Center to run a week-long seminar on photovoltaic installation in Salt Lake City.

Solar Energy International (SEI) is a member-supported organization that offers hands on workshops in solar, wind, water power, and natural building technologies. The Green Building Center, a green building supplier and consulting firm, organized a seminar after they sold a 2 kW SPS Energy Green Grid Tie system to Black Diamond, an international climbing gear manufacturer. The installation of this system presented a great opportunity for a SEI to run a solar training course.

The 6-day training course included 4 days of classroom work and 2 days of installation of the SPS Green Grid Tie system. The system includes Evergreen solar panels and a Fronius 2 kW inverter. SPS Energy provided all of the solar equipment and manuals for the installation. Orrin Farnsworth, a representative from SPS Energy Solutions in Utah, also assisted with the instruction of the course.
