The Woolwich Arms and Arrow, a.k.a. 'The Wooly', plans to celebrate their status as a Selectwind Energy Leader. The Wooly joins a growing number of residents and businesses in Ontario using wind energy supplied by Selectpower Inc.

February 8, 2006, Guelph, ON -The Woolwich Arms and Arrow, a.k.a. 'The Wooly', plans to celebrate their status as a Selectwind Energy Leader. The Wooly joins a growing number of residents and businesses in Ontario using wind energy supplied by Selectpower Inc. Come to the wind-powered party on February 15th to learn how the Wooly and Selectpower are making Guelph a cleaner, greener community.

The Wooly the is part of the Arrow Neighborhood Pub Group which also includes the Bow and Arrow in Toronto, and Tanners in Acton, Ontario. The Wooly is the first in the group to join Selectpower's Wind Energy Leaders by purchasing Selectwind' for a portion of their electricity requirements.

"Selectwind comes from Eco-Logo® certified wind generators here in Ontario," says Selectpower marketing manager Stacey Hare. "The Wooly is paying a small premium for a portion of their electricity bill to put more wind energy into Ontario's power grid."

Because Selectwind displaces coal-generated electricity, the Wooly's commitment to will prevent 5,333kg of Carbon Dioxide (CO2), 37 kg of Sulphur Dioxide (SO2), and 21kg Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) emissions each year.

Bob Desautels, owner of the Wooly and head of the Arrow group, says "We care about the quality of the ingredients in the food and drinks we serve, and we care about where our energy comes from; wind power fits well with our business." The pub prides itself on serving local micro-brews and a fine selection of quality imported beers and spirits. Their menu features innovative seasonal dishes using local meat and produce.

"Come to the party to meet more wind energy leaders too," adds Hare. "We'll share a toast to using renewable energy here in Ontario."
