First residential VAWT in San Diego
the very first vertical axis wind turbine has been installed at a residence in Jamul, Calif.
Windsun Energy Systems has completed the very first vertical axis wind turbine in San Diego County. We installed a WE POWER 3.4k FALCON series wind turbine in Jamul in December. This grid-tied unit should off-set the customers' electric consumption by 50% to 75% annually. The site was ideal for a VAWT as the hills helped to direct the wind at our turbine. After only a week of operation the turbine has been operating every day, sometimes as early as 5 in the morning! The customer reports complete silence from the turbine even in 20 mph winds!
