Elettra Energy and Solaria Announce Successful Solar Project in Italy

585kW Solar Tracking System Built Using Solaria Modules

MILAN, ITALY and FREMONT, CA, October 14, 2011 – Elettra Energy, an electricity provider, and Solaria Corporation, a leading solar module manufacturer, today announced six months of successful operation of a 585kW solar power plant in Pontinia, Italy. The solar plant was commissioned in April 2011. Owned and operated by Elettra Energy, the dual axis solar tracking power plant was designed and constructed using Solaria's advanced photovoltaic modules.

"This is an outstanding project that combines our desire for sustainable investments with Solaria modules' superior return on investment," said Domenico Turriziani, Owner, Elettra Energy. "We are very pleased with Solaria modules: they're well-engineered, robust, and reliable. They are performing well, delivering on the promised electrical generation. The success of this project paves the way for more solar projects which deliver great technology and economics."

"Solaria modules incorporate innovative technology that delivers attractive project economics while leveraging crystalline silicon reliability, efficiency, and supply chain," said Solaria CEO Dan Shugar. "The modules feature industry standard materials, and have been deployed and successfully financed in projects in the U.S., Asia, and Europe."

The solar array features Solaria's patented cost effective modules. Solaria's innovative technology increases the efficiency of standard crystalline PV material in standard form factor modules, which are optimized for solar tracking systems. Solar tracking systems, which follow the sun's transit across the sky, increase sunlight capture, generating 25-30% more electricity than fixed PV arrays. The result is industry-leading performance, reliability and compelling system economics.

"The quality of Solaria modules, combined with the dedication and professionalism of the entire Solaria team, enabled us to build a first-rate solar power plant" added Turriziani.
