re-consult accredited as the first Turkish Designated Operational Entity in the Carbon Market

re-consult, part of the Natural Power group, has been awarded a positive decision to its application for accreditation as a Designated Operational Entity (DOE) for the international carbon market

Turkey's leading wind energy consultancy, re-consult, part of the Natural Power group, has been awarded a positive decision to its application for accreditation as a Designated Operational Entity (DOE) for the international carbon market by the Executive Board of the United Nation's Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). re-consult is the first Turkish company to act as an accredited DOE and is one out of only 53 accredited DOEs world-wide. The accreditation covers ‘Scope 1', also known as "thermal and renewable energy sources".

This accreditation allows re-consult to validate and verify energy projects who propose to participate in the international mandatory carbon crediting market. Furthermore, re-consult is now eligible to process validation and verification proposals for the voluntary carbon crediting market, such as the Gold Standard.
Melisa Copeland-Güzeloğlu, Sales Manager of re-consult's Carbon Division commented: "The past three years have been challenging but it has also been invigorating. We look forward to executing validation and verification services for our clients' energy projects."
Christian Johannes, General Manager of re-consult said: "We are proud to have further underlined our position as the leading entity in Turkey's renewable energy services market. 45% of all Carbon Credits granted under the Gold Standard have been awarded to Turkish renewable energy projects, so it is natural for re-consult to expand its portfolio of services and better meet the demands of our home market as well as expand into international markets."
