NEI Introduces New Solid State Electrolyte Powder (Li10SnP2S12)

NEI Corporation announced today that it is making Li10SnP2S12 – Lithium-Tin-Phosphorous-Sulfide (LSPS) available for sale in powder form. LSPS belongs to a family of "superionic" solids which conduct lithium-ions at room temperature.

Somerset, New Jersey – NEI Corporation announced today that it is making Li10SnP2S12 – Lithium-Tin-Phosphorous-Sulfide (LSPS) available for sale in powder form. LSPS belongs to a family of "superionic" solids which conduct lithium-ions at room temperature. Commercial Lithium-ion batteries usually contain an electrolyte that is dissolved in flammable solvents. The use of a solid state electrolyte, such as LSPS, will eliminate the flammability issue associated with currently used liquid electrolytes.

Sulfide compounds with high Li-ion conductivity are not commonly available, and as such, the development of solid state electrolyte–based Li-ion batteries has been plagued by the lack of widespread availability of these difficult-to-produce materials. NEI has utilized its extensive background in the synthesis of advanced materials to develop a process for producing sulfide materials in a form that allows them to be used in Li-ion cells.
"By making solid state electrolyte powders readily available in test quantities, our intent is to make it easy for Li-ion battery researchers to develop the next generation of all-solid-state Li-ion batteries," said Dr. Ganesh Skandan, CEO of NEI Corporation. He added, "The NEI process is amenable to synthesizing variants of LSPS, such as compositional changes."

SolarEdge Technologies - EV Charging Single Phase Inverter

The SolarEdge PV inverter combines sophisticated digital control technology with efficient power SolarEdge's EV charging single phase inverter offers homeowners the ability to charge electric vehicles up to six times faster than a standard Level 1 charger through an innovative solar boost mode that utilizes grid and PV charging simultaneously. This product is the world's first EV charger with an integrated PV inverter. Reducing the hassle of installing separately a standalone EV charger and a PV inverter, the EV charging inverter eliminates the need for additional wiring, conduit and a breaker installation. By installing an EV charger that is integrated with an inverter, no additional dedicated circuit breaker is needed, saving space and ruling out a potential upgrade to the main distribution panel. Whether you own an EV now or just want to be EV-ready, future-proof your home with SolarEdge.
