Escondido, Calif. June 23, 2014 -- Baker Electric Solar won a 2014 EAR Award for Effective Advertising on Radio from the San Diego Radio Broadcasters Association. Marketing Manager, Ashley Arant, accepted the award for Baker Electric Solar on June 13 for its endorsement campaign featuring radio personality LaDona Harvey. The campaign was nominated by Clear Channel Media + Entertainment and aired on AM 600 KOGO, San Diego's Breaking News & Traffic Station between January 2013 and December 2013.
The purpose of the San Diego EAR Awards is to recognize and celebrate effective advertising on radio. The SDRBA has honored local businesses using the radio medium since 1998. This year five English language and two Spanish language campaigns were recognized.
Radio commercials that aired on a San Diego radio station and were written or produced locally were eligible for the award. Entries were evaluated by a panel of 20 judges consisting of local radio professionals. Judging focused primarily on tangible, specific results derived from the radio spot message and campaign, followed by creativity and execution of production.
Baker Electric Solar's radio campaign objective focused on driving its brand awareness in the radio news and talk category. The Southern California solar installer continued its previous endorsement campaign with AM 600 KOGO's noon to 3 p.m. radio personality LaDona Harvey. Baker emphasized its 75-year history and award-winning status throughout the year-long radio flight. Harvey was effective at highlighting Baker as a local and trusted company with an excellent reputation.
The Baker Electric Solar EAR Award nomination documented the radio campaign's results: approximately 180 new solar inquiries, more than 100 solar consultations, resulting in 22 new solar customers, generating a sales impact of more than $830,000.
