104 MW (dc) of Array Technologies Trackers Now Operational in Utah

Utah Red Hills Renewable Park doubles state's operating solar capacity

Array Technologies, Inc. (ATI) formally announces the solar trackers for Utahs largest photovoltaic plant are now operational. The 104 MW (dc) Utah Red Hills Renewable Park was developed by the integrated independent solar power producer Scatec Solar ASA, and will be wholly-owned by a partnership jointly owned by Google and Scatec Solar.

Scatec Solar chose Swinerton Renewable Energy to lead the Engineering, Procurement and Construction activities for the ground-mounted photovoltaic solar facility that interconnects to an existing transmission line. The plant was built on approximately 632 acres of privately-owned land in Parowan, Utah, and features 340,784 PV solar modules, manufactured by JinkoSolar, supported by an ATI DuraTrack® HZ single-axis tracking system.

"Commissioning the first utility-scale solar power plant in Utah is a significant accomplishment," explained Array Technologies President, Thomas Conroy. "The teams at Scatec Solar and Swinerton have delivered a historic project which will deliver clean power to the grid for the next 20+ years."

"The fact that we were able to build a 104 MW (dc) utility-scale solar plant within 12 months is the proof of our companys capability to deploy solar power rapidly—as well as select strong, reliable partners and technology providers like Array Technologies," said Luigi Resta, CEO, Scatec Solar North America.

"We are very proud to be a part of the construction and commissioning of Utahs largest photovoltaic plant. Congratulations to our hard working team, our great partner Array Technologies, and our trusted client Scatec Solar in the success of the Utah Red Hills Renewable Park," commented George Hershman, Vice President and Division Manager of Swinerton Renewable Energy.
Proven by a decade of utility-scale solar experience and 4 billion installed watts, ATIs market leading DuraTrack HZ tracking system was the clear choice for the developers of the Utah Red Hills Renewable Park.
