Newcastle base for Natural Power

Leading renewable energy and infrastructure consultancy, Natural Power, has opened a new Newcastle office.

Located to the west of the city, in Horsley, the office accommodates the 15-strong team with space for further expansion to serve the business growing offshore and onshore client base.

Natural Power first opened in the area in 2011 and the team has grown steadily, with five new employees being added in the last two years, the most recent addition being Senior Ecologist Laura Shreeve. A large portion of the growth here is due to specialist work in the area of environmental compliance.

The new office is ideally located for offshore work in the centre of the UK on the Tyne, just 20 miles from the sea and in close proximity to the Marine Management Organisation. The team based here predominantly provides ecological and environmental consultancy, and has worked on some of the UKs most notable renewable energy projects including the Blyth, Rampion and Robin Rigg offshore wind farms, the AQUIND Interconnector and the Caithness Moray Interconnector, as well as the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC), which is Scotlands largest offshore wind test and demonstration facility, located off the coast of Aberdeen.

The office also serves European clients including those in France and Ireland, in addition to supporting the delivery of Natural Powers global due diligence service.

Jane Lancaster, Principal Offshore Ecologist at Natural Power, heads up the Newcastle office. She said: "Were delighted to have moved to our new, larger office. We have expanded the range of services throughout the years and our growth demonstrates our ability to diversify and adapt to the market requirements. Our new base will enable us to consolidate our offering from Newcastle and continue to add to our teams expertise."
