Natural Power appoints Heavy Lift Operations Supervisor

Independent renewable energy services provider, Natural Power, has appointed Gordon Booth as Heavy Lift Operations Supervisor. This new role has been created to complement Natural Power's growing servicing business.

Based in the Stirling office, Gordon joins from GE Renewables where he was a technical lead and authorised technician/engineer. He has a strong technical engineering background with experience of working both onshore and offshore. At Natural Power, he will be responsible for the management of all major component exchange programmes, all associated health and safety considerations through CDM and liaison with on-site teams and heavy lift contractors to ensure the smooth running of operations in this area.

Stuart Egan, Head of Sites Operations at Natural Power, said: "As demand for our servicing team continues to grow, the careful planning and management of logistics in the area of major component exchanges demands a dedicated role. The replacement of the large, complex and expensive, critical parts such as gearboxes, blade bearings and generators hundreds of feet in the air on wind turbines requires careful attention to detail, and so Gordon, who is an experienced technical engineer and proven problem solver, is an exciting and very welcome addition to the team."

The new heavy-lift major component exchange service complements the existing competence to provide independent servicing for clients. Natural Power has been building an independent servicing team that understands the requirements of its clients and will work to reduce costs whilst optimising energy generation wherever possible. The scope of work varies from client to client but will commonly include service and repair, reactive maintenance and reliability servicing.
