SPI 2019 - Panasonic Solar

SPI Q&A with | Panasonic Solar

Tell us about your company.

Panasonic has been pioneering solar power since the green revolution began. Starting with production of amorphous cell technology in 1975, no one has spent more time on solar R&D. In 1997, our HIT® modules introduced high-efficiency solar panels to the world.

Panasonic HIT® offers one of the most efficient solar modules available today, providing homeowners with decades of reliable sustainable power. Add our intelligent battery storage solutions and deliver the most complete solar + storage system under the sun. Help homeowners improve grid independence and save money with a fully integrated energy ecosystem that keeps their family powered up during outages and peak rate periods.

With full support from one of America’s most trusted brands, Panasonic installers stand by their work and product with confidence. Our industry-leading warranty on HIT® solar panels covers product, performance, parts and labor for 25 years.

Let’s take your business to profitable new levels together.

Your company will be exhibiting at SPI & ESI 2019, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?

SPI and ESI is the largest trade show in North America, where manufacturers have an opportunity to showcase their new products and engage with many different customers and stakeholders in the solar industry. The show not only provides an opportunity for us to exhibit new products as a manufacturer, but to meet face to face with many of our customers and partners in the U.S. and global market.

What makes your booth a must visit for SPI & ESI 2019 Attendees?

Panasonic will have many exciting products on display, including our new high efficiency HIT+ module lineup as well as our AC module. Additionally, we will have our energy storage products on display with new features and enhancements for the growing stationary ESS market.

SPI & ESI 2019 has many educational sessions, forums & Demo’s, is your company involved in any of them this year?

Panasonic will have video displays in our booth showcasing our products and installations, and will have a full staff to support one-on-one demonstrations and answer questions about our product offering.

When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see?  Any educational sessions, pavilions etc. you plan on attending?

It will be interesting to see all of the advancements and new products in the energy storage space, as there are currently more than eighty booths on the show floor featuring this category. With the rapid growth of ESS deployments, there will be a host of code developments in the coming years we will all need to pay attention to, so I’m looking forward to the “Know Before You Go! Exploring the Changing World of Energy Storage Codes and Standards” session.

Energy Storage is undertaking rapid advancements and growth.  Give us an idea on how your company and product is being utilized now for energy storage.

Panasonic has been and continues to be a global leader in battery technology. With a rich history in battery production that started in 1931, our battery cells and modules are used in a variety of residential and commercial applications globally, and we continue to advance the technology in new and innovative applications.

Give us your thoughts on what the future holds for energy storage.

The only certainty seems to be the continued rapid growth of this market segment, as it will be needed to help support a safe and reliable grid as solar PV capacity continues to increase as well. Piggybacking off of the R&D investments that the EV market is currently making, we should see great advancements in battery technology and cost reduction measures in the coming years.
