(Washington, D.C./Long Beach, CA) The National Hydrogen Association announced today that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to address the organization's 17th annual conference. The NHA Annual Hydrogen Conference and Hydrogen Expo US expects to attract over 1,000 attendees to the Long Beach Convention Center, March 12-16. (www.hydrogenconference.org).

Gov. Schwarzenegger has led California's efforts to expand hydrogen fueling infrastructure, highlighting hydrogen's critical role as an alternative to oil and catalyst for improved air quality. In 2004, he formed the Hydrogen Highway Network to serve as a blueprint for government and private agencies to work together in planning and building a hydrogen infrastructure.

"The National Hydrogen Association is thrilled that Gov. Schwarzenegger is planning to address the industry, university and government leaders present at the Conference," reports Jeff Serfass, President of the NHA. "His strong advocacy for hydrogen development underscores the strength and viability of this industry. With the support of partnerships such as the Governor's Hydrogen Highway Network, hydrogen use will continue to accelerate over the next decade as the technologies and infrastructure evolve."

After his address, the Governor plans to tour the Expo including over a dozen vehicles on display or available for the Ride and Drives. The Hydrogen Conference will feature nearly a week of hydrogen speakers and events, including an exposition with over 90 exhibitors. Tuesday, March 14, will be "Hydrogen Public Day" featuring free admission to the public for the Expo and hydrogen vehicle Ride and Drives.
