The Solar Center, Inc. acquires Sunwave Technologies in Long Island Expansion
The Solar Center Acquires Sunwave Solar of Long Island, NY
The Solar Center, Inc. (TSC) announced today that it has acquired the solar energy business of Sunwave Enterprises, a leading provider of solar energy systems in Long Island. Combined with TSC's existing operations in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut, this combination will allow the company to service most of the region surrounding New York City.
The Sunwave team, including President Steve Engelmann, will continue to operate from their Suffolk County location while the company looks for a larger facility. The extensive experience of the Sunwave staff from installing over 40 solar electric systems will be integrated with that of TSC's existing staff of forty-five solar professionals.
Dennis Wilson, CEO of TSC said, "This acquisition brings the company back to Long Island, where we installed our first 15 solar electric systems, and where I sold and installed several hundred solar hot water systems during the early 1980s. The Solar Center has worked with Sunwave in the past and their commitment to high quality installations and superior customer service is what attracted us to the opportunity. Sunwave is our second acquisition and probably not our last. Given the need to develop much more renewable energy generation, we believe the time is right for additional expansion and is why the company is raising additional capital for its regional expansion."
The combined experience of the staff from completing more than 250 solar installations makes the company one of the most experienced solar integrators on the East Coast. We believe that regional and national regulatory and political trends are pointing toward enormous growth in the solar energy industry. Recent announcements in New York will hopefully lead to a more robust solar energy market in that state by 2008.
The Solar Center, Inc, headquartered in Denville, New Jersey offers its residential and commercial customers solar electric and solar thermal generation technologies to meet their energy needs. TSC's founder, Dennis Wilson, has been developing solar thermal, cogeneration, energy efficiency and solar electric projects since the late 1970s.
