SolarWorks NJ Signs $14 Million Agreement to Develop Solar Farm

SolarWorks NJ, a premier solar energy integrator, signs a $14 million agreement to develop a 2MW solar farm, one of the largest solar energy projects in New Jersey.

SolarWorks NJ, LLC, a leading provider of turnkey solar electricity installations and renewable energy solutions, announced today plans to develop a solar farm on twelve acres of land owned by Suncatcher Clean Energy LLC in Williamstown, New Jersey. The solar farm will be the largest solar farm energy system in South Jersey and one of the largest systems in the state.

According to SolarWorks NJ's CEO, Steve Masapollo, "SWNJ will manage the design, construction and marketing for the project as well as the contacts between Suncatcher Clean Energy LLC and potential buyers of the electricity produced. Additionally, the company is in the last stage of obtaining financing for the project. This contract illustrates that a smaller New Jersey company can handle large projects which in the past have been given to very large California Company's."

Under the $14 million agreement, SolarWorks NJ will provide 2-megawatts of solar power electric utility grid. The solar farm is estimated to generate over 2.7 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by over 3,000 tons annually. This is equivalent to the carbon dioxide emissions from the consumption of more than 334,000 gallons of gasoline and provides enough energy to supply for over 1,000 families.

"New legislation brought before New Jersey State Law Makers will allow us to become a renewable power generation company. Suncatcher Clean Energy will pioneer the independent renewable power generation industry in New Jersey. We are poised and ready to be number one," said David Sharrow, President of Suncatcher Clean Energy LLC.

The solar farm will be constructed in 2009 using 8,928 panels. The panels will be mounted on a sophisticated, ground mount racking system. Like solar panels on a home, these panels convert sunlight through an inverter that is fed into the utility grid.

"This project is a perfect example of the kind of innovation and leadership our state needs to expand the important role of renewable energy. We are very proud to be an integral part of this undertaking," said Steve Masapollo, President and CEO of SolarWorks NJ. SolarWorks NJ is developing a 3 MW system in PA.

The project is scheduled to begin in March 2009, after completing the local approval process. The solar energy farm should be up and running by late May.
SolarWorks NJ offers a renowned renewable energy solution for medium and large scale projects.
