GEM Electric Vehicles Used to Transport Heads of State at 2009 G8 Summit

Fiat Group Provides 33 Emission-Free GEM Electric Vehicles at Eco-Conscious Event

Fargo, ND - July 6, 2009 - As discussions of energy efficiency and climate change take the front seat in this year's G8 Summit talks, Fiat Group and Chrysler Group LLC's Global Electric Motorcars are showing their dedication to environmentally sound transportation solutions by providing 33 GEM e4 zero-emission electric vehicles at the G8 Summit in L'Aquila, Italy. The GEM cars will be used as the official shuttles for the Summit's attending heads of state. The highly anticipated meeting takes place from July 8 - 10.

As the world's largest Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, Global Electric Motorcars offers convenient transportation solutions. GEM cars drive the equivalent of 150 miles (241 kilometers) per gallon, or two cents per mile - just the kind of eco-conscious engineering that the 2009 G8 Summit takes into account in evaluating its transportation needs. Global Electric Motorcars' Italian distributor, Geo Europa, will be on hand to provide technical assistance and support during the event.

"Global Electric Motorcars is proud to collaborate with Fiat Group in providing GEM electric vehicles at the G8 Summit," said Rick Kasper, President and COO of Global Electric Motorcars. "This further validates the importance of neighborhood electric vehicles as a green transportation solution."

The G8 Summit has served as a powerful forum for environmental conservation and the fight against climate change. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the development of low-carbon content technologies will be a major focus at this year's Summit - causes that Global Electric Motorcars pioneers in its mission to provide environmentally conscious transportation alternatives worldwide.

About Global Electric Motorcars:

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Chrysler Group LLC, Global Electric Motorcars has been the market leader in the low-speed, NEV industry for the past 11 years and has more than 40,000 GEM battery-electric vehicles on the road worldwide. GEM cars are used by local, state and national government agencies, resorts, master- planned communities, universities, medical and corporate campuses, as well as by sports teams, taxi-shuttle services and individual consumers.

The six GEM passenger and utility models are legal on most streets with posted speeds of 35 mph (56 kilometers) or less and have many of the same safety features of regular cars, but are much more economical in price and fuel consumption. GEM cars are eligible for incentives and tax credits from clean-air districts and other governmental agencies.

To date, GEM cars have been driven more than 350 million emission-free miles (563 million kilometers), and have saved more than 16 million gallons (61 million liters) of gasoline. They also have prevented more than 180 tons (163 metric tons) of ozone-producing pollutants from reaching the air.

Vecoplan - Planning and implementation of complete processing plants in refuse derived fuel production

In order to reduce the costs involved in the energy-intensive production of cement, many manufacturers are turning to refuse-derived fuels (RDF), considerably reducing the proportion of expensive primary fuels they would normally use. Solid fuels are being increasingly used - these might be used tyres, waste wood or mixtures of plastics, paper, composite materials and textiles. Vecoplan provides operators of cement plants with proven and robust components for conveying the material and separating iron and impurities, efficient receiving stations, storage systems and, of course, efficient shredders for an output in various qualities.
