Mark your calendars, the date has been set! National AFV Day Odyssey 2010 will be held nationwide on Friday, October, 15.

Since Odyssey's beginning in 2002, the NAFTC has continued to coordinate this incredible event, with support from its numerous partners and sponsors. In 2004, 2006, and 2008, the event drew record-breaking crowds, allowing millions to hear Odyssey's message.

In addition to the Odyssey sites across the U.S., the event expanded to include sites in Canada and Germany in 2006. The employees and members of the NAFTC are excited to see what new developments the 2010 event will hold.

Al Ebron, Executive Director of the NAFTC said, "We strive to make improvements and increase awareness every year. We had 90 sites for Odyssey 2008. For the 2010 event, we hope to recruit 125 sites across the U.S. and attract over 200,000 attendees."

Other goals for Odyssey 2010 include reaching out to new organizations, such as secondary schools, and increasing participation by other green focused businesses and organizations. The event consists of activities ranging from vehicle exhibits and demonstrations, to lectures and classes.

At each year's event, industry experts have gathered to share their knowledge of alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles with each other and the public. In addition to those in attendance, over 50 million people were reached through local and national media in 2008, and the NAFTC hopes to reach over 75 million individuals in 2010.
