Schneider Electric Training Programs are now in Session

Schneider Electric's Renewable Energies Business announced today their North American Board of Certified Energy Practioners hands-on training is now available. Schneider Electric instructors will ensure participants receive the fundamentals of using Schneider Electric Xantrex™ products.

BURNABY, BC, May 20, 2010 — Schneider Electric's Renewable Energies Business announced today their North American Board of Certified Energy Practioners (NAPCEP) approved, detailed, hands-on training is now available. Schneider Electric instructors, Jarmo Venalainen and Phil Robinson will ensure training session participants receive the fundamentals of using the Schneider Electric Xantrex™ single-phase and three-phase product lines.

Our course instructors offer detailed, hands-on training using actual equipment and cover a broad range of topics including; inverter training, grid power basics, batteries and charging and provide a thorough, interactive overview of solar panel and inverter fundamentals. Course attendees also have an excellent opportunity to interact and network with industry professionals during the training sessions.

Our courses are approved by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) and all attendees that complete the program will receive 13.5 NABCEP Points. NABCEP offers certifications and programs to renewable energy professionals throughout North America and has created a solar electric installers certificate program. 936 individuals have passed the exam, since September 2009.

Jarmo Venalainen, Schneider Electric's single-phase instructor, has been in involved in the Switch Mode Power Electronics industry for over 22 years in positions ranging from Design Engineer to Product Development and now Training Engineer. He has a graduate level academic background as well as thorough practical knowledge of the design and implementation of power inverters and chargers. Jarmo has a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and a B.Sc. in Applied Physics from British Columbia's Simon Fraser University.

Phil Robinson, Schneider Electric's three-phase instructor, has been teaching students for over 21 years in various industries including: digital compression systems, aircraft power plant and electrical systems, electro-mechanical trouble shooting, hardware, software and middleware for broadcast systems as well as avionics and semi-conductor equipment. Mr. Robinson has held product support and technical support roles in multiple industries adding to his capable troubleshooting knowledge. He has a strong electrical background in three phase power plant systems as well as an extensive knowledge of three-phase inverters.

Single-Phase Training: This training is a comprehensive course for those professional installers looking to gain knowledge and hands on experience in installing the Schneider Electric Xantrex XW System and Xantrex GT Single-Phase Series.

Three-Phase Training: This training is a comprehensive course for system operators of larger solar farms who desire a more in depth understanding of their system operation and basic troubleshooting.
