Humana Capital Resources, a leading employment consultancy is backing the Renewable Technology sector as it believes there are buoyant future employment prospects.

During a fragile economic recovery where some forecasts predict 30,000 UK businesses will fail in 2011, the Renewable Technology sector remains relatively sheltered and show promising signs for growth and employment.

Although there has been recent positivity over the 0.8% increased growth in the third quarter, employment opportunities within many industry sectors are yet to suffer, HCR warns.

The expenditure cuts under the Coalition Government are still to take effect, and many economists believe that this growth is unsustainable. The latest expenditure cut of £81 billion is a remarkably large amount of money to take out of the financial system.

An Economist at HCR says that "we are yet to see what impact this will have on the economy and we may begin to see the effects in February 2011. We are preparing our business for unemployment and company failures to rise as a result of these cuts.

Despite this, during 2010, a number of exciting Enterprise Co-investment Funds emerged which have invested over £100m into a wide range of technology companies, the majority in Renewable Technology enterprises.

Furthermore the Government has recently pledged to invest £250m a year more to support apprenticeship schemes including core disciplines that are appropriate for the Renewable Energy sector.

We believe the core focus to be on Engineering and Operations; however opportunities for Director and Senior Management level, as well as Sales & Marketing will still be available.

We are investing strategically to ensure we have the necessary resources to enable us to successfully support this area of Industry and expect strong growth within this area in 2011 and beyond.
