The meeco Group's Italian subsidiary completes the transfer of 7 MWp solar projects

SunCarrier Services (SCS) Italia S.r.l., the Italian subsidiary of the Swiss-based meeco Group has finalized the transfer of seven photovoltaic-projects in October totaling 7 MWp. All of the projects are located in the region of Puglia, South West Italy.

"The seven projects were finalized and structured into meeco vehicle SPV companies and coordinated with local developers", explains Claudio Alberti, heading the Italian operations for The meeco Group. "The EPC contractor is a+f GmbH, a member of the Gildemeister Group and a long time partner to meeco, with over 100 MW built in partnership around Europe."

The projects' installations, which have been partially equipped with fixed structures as well as with a+f's SunCarrier single-axis tracking technology, are estimated to yield a total in excess of 11.000.000 kWh of energy produced per year, enough to feed the annual energy needs of over 3.100 families, avoiding the emission of 5.500 tons of carbon dioxide every year for the next 20 years.

All of the projects are already feeding the grid and have been awarded the 2010 Feed-in Tariff.

Claudio Alberti concludes: "The combination of high radiation in one of the highest radiation areas of Italy and a favorable Feed-in Tariff make these projects extremely interesting from a return point of view."

Active in the Italian PV market since late 2008, The meeco Group's subsidiary has been continuously adding projects to the Group's portfolio.

Vecoplan - Planning and implementation of complete processing plants in refuse derived fuel production

In order to reduce the costs involved in the energy-intensive production of cement, many manufacturers are turning to refuse-derived fuels (RDF), considerably reducing the proportion of expensive primary fuels they would normally use. Solid fuels are being increasingly used - these might be used tyres, waste wood or mixtures of plastics, paper, composite materials and textiles. Vecoplan provides operators of cement plants with proven and robust components for conveying the material and separating iron and impurities, efficient receiving stations, storage systems and, of course, efficient shredders for an output in various qualities.
