REFUsol Solar Inverters Receive UL Certificate

In-demand inverters will ship from Greenville, SC, in early 2012

Metzingen, Germany and San Jose, California—December 13, 2011—REFUsol, manufacturer of some of the world's most efficient solar inverters, today announced that they have received their official certificate from Underwriters Laboratories (UL) on four of its products: REFUsol 012K-UL, 016K-UL, 020K-UL and 024K-UL, following the successful safety testing completed in October of this year. In addition, the products are listed in the CSI List of Eligible Inverters, which confirms that the devices have an efficiency rate of up to 98 percent.

With the UL certificate for the three-phased and transformer-less solar inverters covering residential to utility scale deployments, REFUsol is aiming to extend its US business. The inverters are expected to ship early 2012. "The U.S. market is key for us," explains Juergen Schwarz, Vice President Operations, REFU Solar Electronics, Inc., the subsidiary that will handle sales, services, and marketing activities. "We've had great success throughout Europe but the demand for efficient solar energy is on the rise in the US market, and we're looking forward to growing in this increasingly robust marketplace."

To accommodate anticipated sales, REFU Solar Electronics, San Jose, will add four new members to team: Mark Ledbetter, David Khuen, and Kevin Tripp in sales, and Joe Kidd in service. They, and the rest of the team, will cover the entire North American Market. "We will have presence in Los Angeles; San Jose; New Jersey; South Carolina; Denver; Chicago; and Dallas," Alan Beale, REFU Solar Electronics Vice President of Sales and Marketing said at the time of this announcement. "The addition of personnel to our team will help us to meet our goals in this new market. With proven products that operate with high efficiency and attractive features, we're certain that our sales will be strong now that we are able to ship product."

Furthermore, the company introduced its new inverter REFUsol 333K at this year's SPI in October in Dallas. The highly efficient inverter significantly decreases the total balance of system (BOS) costs of PV installations, therefore supporting a profitable and cost efficient design of larger photovoltaic plants.
