SSX ONTARIO: Solar Summit & eXpo 2012 is a must attend event for stakeholders in Ontario's emerging solar energy sector; companies involved in the province's FIT program and property owners seeking cost-effective ways to power their buildings with clean energy. The event will be a driving force in advancing the solar business development and creating sustainable jobs in Ontario.
The SSX Summit Program will be conducted by a stellar line up of eighty (80)+ renowned thought leaders in the Solar PV industry and will include a full program of sessions addressing the challenges, issues, and ramifications surrounding Solar PV now and in the future.
The comprehensive program will include keynote addresses, plenary sessions, breakout seminars and forums. June 25th will focus on "Project Execution & Market Expansion." The keynote address will be presented by Paula Mints, Principal Analyst, PV Services Program, Director, Energy Practice at Navigant Consulting. Ms. Mints will speak about "Solar PV & Here in Ontario: What to Expect in the Next Three Years". Closing the day will be a reception where attendees will continue the discussion in an informal networking setting.
June 26th, day two (2) will focus on "Developing A Robust Regional PV Market" and include a full day of sessions concluding with networking on the exhibit hall floor.
SSX eXpo B2B trade show, featuring up to 50 companies, is a leading edge trade show demonstrating innovative solar PV solutions – products, services and initiatives.
Two special events will be taking place on Monday evening, June 25th, beginning at 6:00 pm: The SolarLiving Show! and the SolarVision Awards Gala.
The SolarLiving Show is Ontario's new premier educational showcase of installed solar energy systems and state-of-the-art technologies. The event is open to the public where visitors will experience innovative demonstrations, hands-on workshops and take part in discussions with leading figures in Ontario's emerging clean energy economy. Chris Chopik will host the SolarLiving Show and facilitate a dynamic dialogue between George Smitherman, Ontario's former Minister of Energy and Architect of the Green Energy Act of 2009, and Jeff Rubin, former Chief Economist, CIBC World Markets and best-selling author of the newly released, "The End of Growth." Marcelo da Luz, of the X of 1 solar car project will be on hand to talk about going the distance, driving a solar powered car.
The SolarVision Awards Gala will celebrate the visionaries – individuals, organizations, companies – who have made possible the gains in solar energy in Ontario and showcase those who are expected to build upon and continue this progress. Nominations are open until June 8th, 5:00 pm. Submissions are being sought from a wide range of initiatives and projects. All eligible nominees will be recognized and an Awards Committee of members committed to a renewal energy future will determine those deserving special acknowledgment.
