SOLAER USA TO BUILD SOLAR POWER SYSTEM IN NEW MEXICO RMS

SOLAERUSA TO BUILD SOLAR POWER SYSTEM IN NEW MEXICO RMS Foods, Inc. Facility to Save Over Half a Million Dollars from Solar Energy

Hobbs, New Mexico (June 7, 2012) –This summer, there will be another great reason to purchase Boca Burgers and other Boca brand products. RMS Foods, Inc., the exclusive producer of the Boca brand of low fat, low cholesterol soy based products, is having a total of two 100KW solar power systems installed on the roof of their Hobbs manufacturing facility.

RMS Foods, Inc. seeks to decrease their carbon footprint due to the amount of electricity they have to use in order to manufacture and store Boca brand products. Besides using the sun as its power source, electrical costs are mitigated through the cooling effect that the solar panels provide by covering the roof of the building. With the roof staying cooler, the building envelope stays cooler, meaning less electricity needed and less operating cycles required for the refrigeration compressor systems connected to the freezers and coolers within the plant. In addition, the reduced duty cycles for the systems will increase the working life of the compressor systems. The solar systems are estimated to save RMS Foods over $600K throughout the lifetime of the system from the sun energy captured by the solar panels.
RMS Foods, Inc. was founded in 1959 and employs 185 people. They are an exclusive manufacturer of Boca brand products for Kraft Foods. Sam D. Cobb, President of RMS, says that the solar panels will save RMS Foods, Inc. money on electrical costs and also heat load of the building.
"The system will provide direct savings against our current energy cost" explains Mr. Cobb, "and the solar panels create a shading effect for our building, which we try to keep refrigerated below 45 degrees in some areas and below 0 degrees in some."
Solaer USA will install, own, and operate the solar power system. They will provide RMS Foods, Inc. with a discounted electricity rate. Conergy solar panels will be installed and S5! clamps and racking are going to be used to secure the panels to the roof, so there will not be any penetration of the roof structure.
"The solar power system will use only high quality materials and workmanship for construction," explains, Vance Nobe, Chief Engineer of the project. "In addition, the ease of maintenance will ensure a long lasting system for 25 years and more."

Dynapower - MAXIMIZE PRODUCTION AND REVENUES WITH SOLAR PLUS STORAGE

The addition of energy storage to an existing or new utility-scale PV installation allows system owners and operators the opportunity to capture additional revenues. Traditional storage plus solar applications have involved the coupling of independent storage and PV inverters at an AC bus or the use of multi-input hybrid inverters. An alternative approach - coupling energy storage to PV arrays with a DC-to-DC converter - can help maximize production and profits for existing and new utility-scale installations. DC-Coupled Utility-Scale Solar Plus Storage leads to higher round-trip efficiencies and lower cost of integration with existing PV arrays and at the same time, opens up new revenue streams not possible with traditional AC-coupled storage, including clipping recapture and low voltage harvesting, while being eligible for valuable tax incentives.
