Indian PV manufacturing questions to be answered at Delhi summit

The PV Manufacturing Summit India (1-2 August, Delhi) to bring in experience of First Solar, Moser Baer, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), SCHOTT Solar and many more to solve critical manufacturing and technology challenges.

Recent research has confirmed that that the race to meet project development deadlines triggered a surge of PV installations in India from Q4 2011 until now. The total Indian market could reach the monumental 1GW milestone of installed power by the end of 2012.

It was confirmed recently that the world's leading thin film manufacturer First Solar will be among the module manufacturers participating in key discussions affecting the PV industry in India today. This includes the hotly debated local content requirement laws, in which Tarun Kapoor, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy will be providing his valuable input.

The local perspective on making modules competitive will be given by BHEL and Moser Baer, who will provide analysis on PV technology performance in Indian conditions and working in a competitive market. BHEL offers a wide range of the-state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic modules suitable for a variety of applications. Established in 1983 in New Delhi, Moser Baer is one of India's leading technology companies. The Group's photovoltaic manufacturing business was established between 2005 and 2007 with the primary objective of providing reliable solar power as a competitive non-subsidized source of energy.

Joining the above are over 25 expert speakers, including project developers and integrators like SunEdison, Solarsis and Astonfield, who will be giving their perspectives on the manufacturing industry, as well as international companies vital to the PV supply chain, such as DuPont and Grenzebach.
