Webinar - Diversification of CSP: Paving the way for new opportunities in 2012

While the CSP industry is facing a challenging time to become a true contender in the global energy mix there are still many opportunities for grabs.

These opportunities will only materialize through the diversification of the sector into new markets, applications and effective innovation to reduce execution costs.

Whilst Spain represents a strong driving force for solar know-how at a worldwide level, it has been powered by government support schemes such as feed-in tariffs. The approval in January 2011 of a royal decree temporarily suspending the pre-allocation procedures of all economic incentives for all renewable sources has created a great deal of uncertainty among the global CSP community.

Technical and R&D efforts are being accelerated in order to slash costs so that CSP can soon stand subsidy-free; while developers, regulators and EPCs alike are looking to fast-track the industry's growth internationally. The cost-effective high performance of CSP in South Africa, India, Chile and other emerging markets will guarantee the lucrative expansion of the industry – and the time has come to scale up and diversify.

To tackle these themes in detail CSP Today has organized a complimentary webinar entitled ‘Diversification of CSP: Paving the way for new opportunities in 2012'. The 60 minute session will take place on Thursday 6th of September at 15.00 CEST/ 14.00 GMT.

Participants will be able to take part in a live Q&A as well as a series of industry polls, and features presentations from:

Ompi Aphane, Deputy Director, Department of Energy (South Africa)
Ayanda Nakedi, Renewable Energy Director from Eskom (South Africa)
José Manuel Nieto, Thermo Electrical Director, Spain

The panellists will discuss the feasibility, challenges and prospects of diversifying the CSP industry mainly into new international markets like South Africa, in order to maintain the growth of the sector despite the challenging economic times at present.

The webinar's Director, Laura Hernandez of CSP Today has outlined her vision for the 60 minute discussion: "The time has now arrived where the CSP community must expand its reach amidst adversity. It is currently make or break for CSP and 2012 is the year to react to change and accelerate the industry's evolution by diversifying into new markets, applications and technologies. That is exactly what we will be discussing at the forthcoming webinar: Diversification of CSP: Paving the way for new opportunities in 2012".

The webinar is complimentary and can be joined at https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/788393510 – with limited spaces available you must sign up early.

Vecoplan - Planning and implementation of complete processing plants in refuse derived fuel production

In order to reduce the costs involved in the energy-intensive production of cement, many manufacturers are turning to refuse-derived fuels (RDF), considerably reducing the proportion of expensive primary fuels they would normally use. Solid fuels are being increasingly used - these might be used tyres, waste wood or mixtures of plastics, paper, composite materials and textiles. Vecoplan provides operators of cement plants with proven and robust components for conveying the material and separating iron and impurities, efficient receiving stations, storage systems and, of course, efficient shredders for an output in various qualities.
