Fuji Electric Begins U.S. Production of EV Charging Stations

Manufacturer's UL-Certified DC Quick Chargers for Electric Vehicles to be Made in California

EDISON, N.J.--Fuji Electric Corp. of America has announced that U.S. production of their UL-Certified DC Quick Chargers for Electric Vehicles has commenced, with the first production units shipping out of Milpitas, CA by late-March. The manufacturer's 4th Generation 25kW DC Quick Charger features a slimmer design than previous versions, making it an ideal choice for a wide variety of commercial applications.

"Since entering the U.S. EV market in March 2012, we have been working diligently to begin local production of our DC Quick Chargers in order to better serve our customers," said Larry Butkovich, Fuji Electric's General Manager of EV Systems. "We are now able to offer faster delivery on orders, and respond to evolving market demands and design requirements with greater ease."

The sleek DC Quick Charger is built to the CHAdeMO specification and allows EV owners to charge their electric vehicles in under an hour. With over 350 units deployed worldwide, Fuji Electric has been an international market player in the EV industry for over five years and uses their own power supply in the DC Quick Charger.

"By using our core technology in the design of our EV charging stations, we were able to leverage our power electronics expertise to guarantee the product will meet Fuji Electric's quality standards," said Phil Charatz, President and CEO of Fuji Electric America. "Bringing production to the U.S. is an important milestone for us, and it reinforces our commitment to the EV industry for many years to come."

RBI Solar - Dahlia Has You Covered

What if you could maximize the Ground Coverage Ratio (GCR) on your next project and not have to worry about the complicated variables that come with a tracker system? With a low tilt and clearance design, Dahlia® has the highest GCR of any fixed-tilt system in the marketplace. The system is available in three tilt options (7.5, 10 and 12.5 degrees) and designed to accommodate any sized PV module. The lightweight system is engineered with fewer components, several of which are shipped to job sites pre-assembled. This design feature reduces freight costs and rapidly trims the amount of on-site installation time required to complete construction. Maximizing PV coverage on a site can lead to an increase of production, which creates greater financial return for project owners. Over 100 MW of Dahlia® projects have been deployed across the United States, in regions of variable snow and wind loads. How much can Dahlia® cover and save you on your next project?
