Solar Battle of the Bands Returns to San Francisco July 10

Live musical showdown between five solar company rock bands

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 13, 2013 – Solar Battle of the Bands, the annual solar industry event featuring a live musical showdown between five solar company rock bands, will be held at The Mezzanine in San Francisco on Wednesday, July 10 at 8 pm.

Presented by Quick Mount PV and Creotecc and held during the week of the annual Intersolar North America trade show in San Francisco, Solar Battle of the Bands has established itself as "the premiere networking event in the solar industry." Last year's event was a huge success attended by more than 1200 solar professionals.

Returning champion "Zep, the Band" from Zep Solar will compete for this year's title with 2012 runner up "The Killa Watts" from Sungevity, "The Soulmetrics" from SolarCity, "The Voltaics" from SMA – all returning from last year's Battle – and newcomer "Rev. Ray & the Everlasting Incentives" from Inovateus Solar.

The evening kicks off with Creotecc's Christie McCarthy performing her solar industry anthem Rise and Shine and culminates with Quick Mount PV's house band, "Northerner & the Rafters" playing after the competition ends and the votes are being cast and tabulated. Creotecc's McCarthy and Quick Mount PV's Johan Alfsen will also serve as MCs for the event.

Solar Battle of the Bands is made possible by generous contributions from terawatt sponsor Motech, megawatt sponsors Burndy, AEE Solar, SunEarth, SMA and Inovateus Solar, and media and nonprofit sponsors SolarPro, Solar Power World, Solar Energy International, and NABCEP.

Solar Battle of the Bands is an invitation-only event, with tickets distributed by the event sponsors. Solar professionals are also invited to join the Solar Battle of the Bands mailing list and enter a ticket giveaway at the event website, solarbattleofthebands.com. The website also features video highlights from previous Solar Battle of the Bands performances.

The event producers, Quick Mount PV and Creotecc, will hold twice-daily raffles for free tickets at their booths at Intersolar on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 9 and 10.
