New Polysun at Intersolar Europe: Polysun 6.1 enables users to plan the optimal use of solar energy

Polysun 6.1 will be available just in time for this year's Intersolar Europe, an event where a wide range of innovative energy storage products will be launched and showcased. Polysun can be used to compare different concepts and show customers where they differ and what benefits they bring.

All in one tool

The new 6.1 version of Polysun includes enhancements to the simulation of energy storage systems as well as an improved self-consumption optimization. In the new energy policy scenario, the «all in one tool» slogan takes on a key meaning: in the Polysun simulation environment, PV is directly linked to the thermal components. The new software version supports inverter-controlled heat pumps, the electrical and thermal storage of excess energy as well as a system-oriented efficiency improvement. As a new feature, the 6.1 version also allows the input of measurement data from smart-meters as well as the generation of synthetic self-consumption profiles.

The following elements can all interact with one another within the same simulation:
• Production of PV electricity
• Inverters
• Heat pumps (with air or soil acting as a heat reservoir)
• Ice storage systems
• Stratified thermal storage tanks
• Electricity storage in rechargeable batteries
• Solar collectors
• Heat exchangers

Freely programmable controllers make it possible to reproduce any number of concepts with interacting elements within them. The expanded template database provides appropriate ready-made examples which may be selected through a wizard.

POWER MAXβ„’ Ballasted Roof Mounting System

POWER MAXβ„’ Ballasted Roof Mounting System

Preformed Line Products introduces the POWER MAX Ballasted Roof Mounting System. The POWER MAX solar mounting system is engineered to maximize energy output on commercial flat roofs. Developed with the professional installer in mind, this system offers adjustable inter-row spacing in the field of up to 11 inches. It features 50% fewer components and a simplified design resulting in faster assembly rates and labor savings on every project. Available in a flush mount, 5˚ or 10˚ tilt or higher density dual tilt design, the POWER MAX base arrives stacked on pallets providing easier transport to the roof. Engineered as a fully ballasted, non-penetrating system, it accepts standard concrete blocks and is qualified by wind tunnel testing.
