Clenergy sponsors Xiamen University in SD China competition 2013

Clenergy is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Xiamen University's Solar Decathlon (SD) team. Clenergy provides a tailor-made roof mount solution combined with expert technical support for the project.

Clenergy, the solar park solution provider, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Xiamen University's Solar Decathlon (SD) team. This team will compete in SD China competition this August in Datong, China.


The SD competition is an award-winning program that challenges collegiate teams to design, build, and operate solar-powered homes that meet the needs of everyday living. This competition will be the first of its kind in Asia.

The work on the Xiamen University team's eco-house is nearly complete. The wood-frame house has an exceptional zero energy consumption with a constant indoor temperature of between 22 and 25 degrees Celsius (72 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit) and humidity of no more than 60 percent. The house is equipped with standard household appliances, all of which are powered by a roof-mounted solar power system.

Clenergy's tailor-made roof mount solution combined with expert technical support play an important role in the project. Supported by the roof's wood frame, the solar installation uses the PV-ezRack SolarTerrace rail system. The system applies materials of anodized aluminum and stainless steel with excellent surface coating. The tailor-made mounting solution provides structural integrity as well as efficiency and safety to the house's power system.

Clenergy and the Xiamen University work together in multiple areas to promote renewable energy technologies and a low-carbon life. Clenergy signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the School of Energy Research at Xiamen University last March. As key members of the New Energy Industry Alliance in Fujian, the two parties are active in solar energy developments throughout the region. They also teamed up for many years at the local Earth Hour charity event.
