Hundred Solar Systems Installed In the Greater Wilmington Area By One Single Installer

WILMINGTON, NC, September 10, 2013 – This week, Wilmington, NC-based Cape Fear Solar Systems installs its 100th solar system in the Greater Wilmington area. Since its inception in 2007, the company has been empowering property owners with solar energy, cumulatively generating over 1.5 Megawatt-hours (MWh) daily, which is enough to offset 2,330 pounds of carbon dioxide – the same amount absorbed by 27 trees planted and grown for 10 years.

Specializing exclusively in the design and installation of solar systems, Cape Fear Solar is a locally grown small business serving homeowners and businesses wanting to take control of their energy bills. Cape Fear Solar Systems has acquired a reputation over the past few years on the local energy market for providing accurate information and data. "We sell realistic expectations: we provide customers with accurate information regarding their solar system payback, energy production, the amount of available tax credits and other solar rebates," says Tim Suddoth, the company's Technical Sales Representative.

"Installing high quality, durable solar systems able to resist our local hot, humid and often salty environment is the key to long term success," according to Suddoth. "The demand for solar has increased, in particular over the past two years as a result of homeowners becoming more educated and acquainted with solar, seeing more and more panels on rooftops," Suddoth continues.

In the past few years, Cape Fear Solar Systems also supported various local Home Owners Associations and Architectural Review Committees in establishing guidelines for solar panel installations. "The technology was new to the area and many did not know what to expect regarding the appearance and installation process," mentions John Donoghue, President of Cape Fear Solar.

"Everyone on our team is passionate about solar and together we are thrilled to provide homeowners with technology that makes them energy independent and saves them significant amounts of money. To have a hundred solar systems installed in our region is a huge milestone, making us proud of our work as well as increasing our responsibility for the future," Donoghue highlights. "We are convinced that solar is one of the best investments presently available and we love to see the reaction of our customers when they get their first bill once solar has been installed on their home or business," Donoghue states.

Solar is becoming mainstream and homes and businesses that have panels on their rooftop profit not only from the great tax credits, but also from investing in a safe and dependable energy source, while fixing their energy rates for the next 30-40 years.

To celebrate such a significant milestone, Cape Fear Solar Systems will be hosting this year's National Solar Tour in Wilmington, organized by the non-profit American Solar Energy Society (ASES). The guided bus tour will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from noon till 5 pm and will provide a terrific opportunity for those interested in finding an antidote to America's dependence on fossil fuels.

The Solar Tour will introduce Wilmington residents to solar technologies their friends and neighbors are using to slash monthly energy bills, improve property values, and benefit from generous tax credits and incentives as they assert their energy independence and create a cleaner community.
