San Diego Homeowner Receives Free Solar Installation through Donated Panels from Sullivan Solar Power
Non-Profit GRID Alternatives uses donated panels to complete 500th Installation in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 25, 2014) – Nonprofit organization GRID Alternatives San Diego completed their 500th solar panel installation for low-income families Wednesday, using free solar panels donated by local renewable energy leader Sullivan Solar Power. The solar panels, resulted in a fully subsidized solar installation for southeast San Diego resident Carolyn Buchanan, who recently retired.
"With prices of gas and food going up, I'm not going to have extra money but it is going to make things easier," said Buchanan, a retired postal worker.
Buchanan's electric bill was averaging $120 in most months. With the newly installed solar project, she is expected to save $802 each year on electricity costs. The project was installed by volunteers at GRID Alternatives San Diego, who has been actively assisting low-income families in the region go solar over the past five years. The installation was comprised of six locally-manufactured panels through a partnership the organization has established with Sullivan Solar Power in May 2013.
"Like other nonprofits, we rely on donations to do our work," said Paul Cleary, Regional Director of GRID Alternatives San Diego, "We are grateful to have the support of Sullivan Solar Power, who donated the panels for Ms. Buchanan's home through our partnership."
For each property owner that goes solar with Sullivan Solar Power, the company donates one solar panel to GRID Alternatives. It is expected that 90 families will receive free solar installations as a result of the partnership.
"It is crucial that solar technology is available to the masses, and we established this partnership with GRID Alternatives to do our part in giving back to the local communities that we serve," said Daniel Sullivan, founder and president of Sullivan Solar Power, "This is the only partnership of its type in California and we are happy to work with GRID Alternatives in moving our region toward energy independence."

Vecoplan - Planning and implementation of complete processing plants in refuse derived fuel production
In order to reduce the costs involved in the energy-intensive production of cement, many manufacturers are turning to refuse-derived fuels (RDF), considerably reducing the proportion of expensive primary fuels they would normally use. Solid fuels are being increasingly used - these might be used tyres, waste wood or mixtures of plastics, paper, composite materials and textiles. Vecoplan provides operators of cement plants with proven and robust components for conveying the material and separating iron and impurities, efficient receiving stations, storage systems and, of course, efficient shredders for an output in various qualities.
