PVinsights: Taiwanese serious cell price cuts lead global cell price drop sharply in July.

Overall cell price continues to drop dramatically in July. Taiwanese cell companies persistently cut prices in order to boost sales under increasing inventory pressure. Taiwanese cell pricing downtrend is also spreading to other regions; the cell prices in China also drop in July.

Overall cell price continues to drop dramatically in July. Taiwanese cell companies persistently cut prices in order to boost sales under increasing inventory pressure. Taiwanese cell pricing downtrend is also spreading to other regions; the cell prices in China also drop tin July. Without significant downstream demand improvement, overall cell price remains on the fall.

Overall module price moderately drop in July. Although Chinese module makers maintain rather stable prices in the US, module pricing downtrend in other regions still negatively impact the overall module price level in July. In Japan, downstream demand is moderately picking up easing the module price cut pressure in the country. While in China, module prices remain weak as PV deployment is still slow. In the EU, Chinese module makers are constrained by the minimum price floor requirement while non-Chinese module makers cut prices more aggressively to gain sales as demand in the US weakens. Therefore, overall silicon module price slightly drop this month. On the other hand, thin-film and high efficiency mono module price increases this week since they are not subject to antidumping or countervailing investigation among the trade wars worldwide.
Overall multi and mono wafer price moderately drop this month. For multi solar components, the month downstream demand leads to lower wafer consumption. In China and Taiwan, cell companies face increasing inventory pressure. As cell companies adjust utilizations, their previous wafer inventory is sufficient in supporting the lower cell production. Therefore, despite lowering wafer quote prices, cell companies still lower their wafer procurement as they become more hesitant in placing orders at the moment. Under limited transaction in the spot this month, overall multi wafer price slightly drop. On the other hand, mono wafer price also drop moderately in July. Mono wafer companies experience slight demand drop and price cut pressure from the solar supply chain. However, overall mono solar component demand is still generally more constant than multi solar component demand; therefore, mono wafer is rather immune to dramatic demand or pricing change.
Polysilicon price drop slightly this month. Despite dramatic solar component pricing drop for the previous couple of weeks, polysilicon is able to maintain fairly stable price level. The high wafer company production utilizations contribute to constant polysilicon demand that help support the polysilicon price level. Without serious utilization adjustment from wafer companies, polysilicon price only moderately drop this month.

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide - the ultimate solution for fast and easy installation of the rail-less RockIt racking system on composition shingle roofs. Smart Slide conforms to UL 441 and TAS 100 (A)-95 for wind and wind-driven rain, providing a super-strong watertight seal that is achieved through compression, in most cases without the need for additional sealant. The waterproofing sealant is embedded deep into the granules of the shingle, thanks to the integrated flexible foam layer that provides cushioning. This ensures a secure fit that conforms to any architectural-style shingle. With UltraGrip Technology™, you can rely on a secure installation, as it absorbs the movement created by thermal expansion and contraction. The pre-installed sealing pads are compatible with all composition shingle roofs, making it the ideal choice, even in ambient temperatures as low as 5 degrees.
