McElroy Metal and MiaSole partnering to offer Lightweight Solar Metal roofing solution

Miasole Hi-Tech, a subsidiary of Hong Kong listed Hanergy Thin Film Power Group, is pleased to announce our new advanced CIGS based FLEX "N" series PV modules will be on display with McElroy Metals at this year's METALCON Exhibition event in Denver Colorado on October 01-03, 2014.

The Miasole FLEX series module is specifically designed for applications over a wide range of steep sloped architectural standing seam metal roof systems as well as certain low slope corrugated metal roof profiles. The FLEX modules bond directly to the metal roof panel. No racks, clamps, brackets or assembly are needed. This greatly reduces material, time and labor. The FLEX modules come factory applied to the metal panels or can be installed in the field.

According to Anil Vijayendran, Head of Product Management at Miasole, "McElroy Metal with their decades of manufacturing experience, large national manufacturing capacity, wide range of metal roof profiles and years of experience with solar installations is an ideal partner for Miasole".

Ken Gieseke, vice president of marketing for McElroy Metal, explained his company's natural attraction to this new flexible thin film solar technology.

"Metal roofing is a perfect medium for green building and solar energy installations for many reasons. Metal roofing with its decades long service life provides an ideal building surface to compliment the 25-to-30 year expected energy output of the Miasole FLEX modules. Add this to the fact metal roofing is completely recyclable material and can then be reclaimed again at the end of its service life, makes metal roofing and solar the ultimate green roof system" said Gieseke.

Gieseke went on to explain that McElroy's customer base in the metal roofing industry has an increased interest in solar power as solar roofs have become mainstream and are a regular part of today's building envelope.

McElroy Metal roofing customers understand that building owners are requesting new renewable energy solutions and adding solar to metal roofs becomes a new opportunity for increasing profits.
