Circular Energy Solar Professional Achieves NABCEP Certification

Circular Energy is proud to announce that Senior Design Consultant Walter Rumpf has achieved NABCEP PV Technical Sales Certification, the industry's most prestigious certification. Designation as a NABCEP PV Technical Sales Professional is widely recognized to be the most important and meaningful certification of its kind in the solar industry.

Today, there are many people employed in the solar industry, all vying for your businesss hard-earned dollars in attempt to signing you up as a new customer.

As solar panel installations in America are becoming more affordable and more accessible, now more than ever its important to double-check that your solar installer has the proper training certifications and credentials.

The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) developed a number of accreditation programs that provide consumers a way to find companies that are committed to high quality installation standards and adhere to industry best practices.

Circular Energy, one of the largest solar companies in Texas, is proud to announce that Senior Design Consultant Walter Rumpf has achieved NABCEP PV Technical Sales Certification, the industrys most prestigious certification. Designation as a NABCEP PV Technical Sales Professional is widely recognized to be the most important and meaningful certification of its kind in the solar industry.

Walter Rumpf has dedicated his entire career to advancing solar energy through all aspects of the solar sales process. After working with a large commercial developer, assisting with project management of 5 MW of commercial solar projects along the Front Range, Rumpf moved into his studied field of marketing and helped grow a residential solar installer into a regional powerhouse that was eventually acquired.

At that point Walter decided to move to Austin, Texas where he joined Circular Energy in 2013 as a sales consultant. His innovative sales strategies and knowledge of solar from initial interest to final system interconnection helped scale company operations across the state of Texas and to a regional level.

"Despite being the only certification for solar sales, there are not a lot of professionals pursuing this accreditation," said Rumpf. "The Technical Sales Exam is more geared towards client conversations and explaining concepts in a way that is easy for anyone to understand. Although I know how to configure string sizes and calculate PV system losses, explaining how solar is going to affect a homeowner or businesss bottom line and what value or benefits it is going to provide is very important."

"With solar being such a new industry, there is a lot of information out there and many newcomers feel the the necessity to oversell the opportunity, when in reality they dont need to. I am very passionate about solar and my skill set is tailored towards sales and marketing which is why this I pursued this accreditation," he added.

To earn his NABCEP certification, Rumpf was required to first document relevant education and experience. Then he had to pass a rigorous exam that covers the breadth of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to competently perform a solar site assessment, conduct performance and financial analysis, develop a preliminary system design, and prepare a detailed sales proposal for the customer. The exam assesses knowledge on subjects as diverse as financial incentives, utility bills and rate structures, electric load analysis, fundamentals of electrical and mechanical system design, and PV system types and components.

"One thing you can be assured of when hiring a NABCEP Certified PV Technical Sales Professional is that your project wont be their first," said Richard Lawrence, Executive Director of NABCEP. "Anyone who makes the considerable effort required to earn NABCEP certification has documented their training and experience as part of the eligibility process. They have also made a very real commitment to upholding high standards of ethical and professional practice. I am delighted to welcome Walter Rumpf of Circular Energy to the ranks of the industrys leading solar professionals."
