Clenergy, the innovative solar solution provider, is proud to announce its sponsorship of Japan Kogakuin University's solar racing team in the 2015 World Solar Challenge, a biennial world solar vehicle race.

Kogakuin University is one of Japans premier solar racing teams. First established in 2009, the team won in 2012 and 2014 the World Green Challenge, a solar vehicle racing contest in Japan. The KGU Team is a collaboration of keen young minds that are passionate about developing solar technology.

KGU is competing in the World Solar Challenge for the second time, moving into the Cruiser Class for this years edition. Solar cars in the Cruiser Class have four wheels and at least two seats. This class encourages the development of practical solar cars for the real-world market. With a focus on safety and practicality, the KGU team is showcasing next-generation technology.

KGU team is fully prepared for the World Solar Challenge 2015. In an interview with NHK during which bad weather prevented racing, the KGU team took the opportunity to practice refueling, making repairs and dealing with the kind of unexpected accidents that inevitably occur during the competition.
