To coincide with Earth Day 2016, Alba Energy is proud to unveil a brand new solar panel installation for Dress for Success Houston. The addition of 44 photovoltaic solar panels on the roof of the new Dress for Success Houston headquarters in downtown Houston, TX will help the nonprofit reduce their carbon footprint and enhance their sustainability efforts.
Since 1998, Dress for Success Houston has empowered women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to more than 35,000 women in the Houston community.
This solar project features 44 265-watt QCELLS solar modules installed with a flat-roof ballasted mounting application. The 11.6 kW solar power system was made possible by a $7,000 dollar donation from Alba Energy as well as an additional $30,000 dollar donation from Reliant.
"We are thrilled with the new solar power system that Alba Energy installed. They were great to work with throughout the process and made every step as smooth as possible. We're looking forward to using the future savings from the system to continue to improve our client services," said Lauren Levicki Courville, Vice President Dress for Success Houston.
This new solar power system will save the non-profit more than $60,000 dollars over the next 25 years, with projections to offset more than 300 metric tons of CO2 equivalent over the next 25 years.
"We are delighted to have been able to contribute to the great work that Dress for Success Houston does in empowering women in the Houston area," said Alba Founder and CEO, Graeme Walker. "With the significant electricity savings from this solar system, they will now be able to provide additional funds to front line services."
