SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., August 24, 2016, -- 3megawatt, a software solution provider offering a cutting-edge asset management platform for the renewable energy industry announced the addition of John Espino as a Vice President of Sales, further filling out its management team.

Espino is a high-profile hire and comes at an opportune time. Bloomberg New Energy Finance recently reported that investment in clean energy broke new records in 2015 and is now seeing twice as much global investment as fossil fuels. And this is not a trend that seems to reverse in the near future, even with low fuel prices. These clean energy assets need to be managed.

Espino will be based in the company's San Francisco office and will focus on accelerating 3megawatts growth with independent power producers (IPPs), developers, investors, funds and asset managers. 3megawatt has developed the industry's largest asset management platform, called BluePoint. BluePoint is integrated with all the leading PV monitoring solutions - solving a much-talked-about pain point in the industry.

Espino joins 3megawatt after almost nine years in the renewable space including 5 years in solar monitoring, most recently as the Director of Sales and Marketing for meteocontrol, North America. Prior to his time at meteocontrol, Espino worked with Locus Energy as well as three years with Draker.
