Clean Energy Award Winners Honored at IREC's Annual National 3iAward Ceremony First Time at Intersolar

IREC celebrates its 35th year in 2017 and the impact it has had making clean renewable energy available to more Americans, through independent, fact-based policy leadership, quality work force development, and consumer empowerment.

What: Annual 3iAwards ceremony honoring the nation's best of 2017 Innovation, Ingenuity and Inspiration in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Winners are based on a prestigious annual national search for people, projects and programs that promote and accelerate the sustainable growth of clean energy and are not announced in advance. Also at the awards ceremony, IREC recognizes three 2017 Energy Heroes - for their tireless commitment supporting clean energy policies and programs in the U.S.

The 2017 IREC 3iAwards are presented for: State & Local Government Achievement of the Year; Community/Shared Renewables Energy Project of the Year; Regulatory Champion of the Year; and IREC Certified Clean Energy Trainer of the Year.

"Our 3iAward recipients are among the nation's most extraordinary people, projects and programs helping to make a sustainable energy future possible," said IREC Board Chair Larry Shirley.

"Their work is setting new standards - creating solutions to today's complex renewable energy and energy efficiency challenges - changing communities and our national energy landscape in the process," added Ken Jurman, IREC board member and chair of the 3iAwards Committee.
